EarthLab supports and amplifies our members with strategic communications activities, based on the individual organization’s needs and our current workload. We work with you to determine a regular meeting schedule (monthly or bi-monthly). As always, the sooner we are notified of a need the more likely we are able to provide support.
Meet monthly to discuss communications plans and support
Advise on strategic messaging opportunities
Liaise with College of the Environment for major website updates (i.e. redesign structure and flow of the homepage) (Note this happens on the College’s schedule)
Copyediting support (no more than two revs on a draft)
Publish blogs and news posts, updating website content to stay current
Update Trumba calendar
Amplify your content through our own channels
Review metrics and provide strategic recommendations
Create a promotional toolkit for big reports, announcements
Liaise with UW News for media outreach and engagement
Provide templates for content (please note organization provides the content)
Add emails to the audience list
Build in Marketo or review and publish Jeto draft through Marketo (requires Jeto training)
Strategy: Support the event lead with 1-2 strategy sessions once event goals and audience are confirmed
Logistics: Create registration page (Cvent, Zoom, or Google form), provide day-of support
Promotions: Develop flyer or graphic and/or promotional plan; Promote via email, EarthLab calendar, and social media
UW brand guidance (typography, colors, logo usage, co-branding)
Ideation, design, external contracting and/or internal creation of digital & printed assets, presentations, documents (infographics, event invites, social graphics, flyers, one-pagers, reports, progress updates)
Proofreading, copyediting (AP, APA, Chicago, etc.)
Science communication: Write blogs or Q&As to translate reports for general audiences (1x quarter)
